Cyanotypes
While usually cyanotypes are created by mixing two chemicals with water before mixing the solutions in equal parts and soaking some cotton rich paper with it, which then - once it is dried - is exposed to UV light to create the photograph, the cyanotypes here are created digitally from color RAW files which I developed in Lightroom and converted into Cyanotypes in Silver Efex Pro.
Mt. Ngauruhoe
Tongariro National Park, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand
Mt. Ngauruhoe is one of the three active volcanoes of the Tongariro National Park and with "only" 2,500 years of age the youngest. It has a nearly perfect formed cone and became famous with the Lord of the Rings movies as Mount Doom.
While locale Maori considered Mt. Ngauruhoe and Mt. Tongariro to be one single mountain, geologists consider Mt. Ngauruhoe to be a second cone of Mt. Tongariro.
With 45 erruptions in the 20th century alone, Mt. Ngauruhoe is the most active of the three volcanos.
