Grave of Dr. Hans Riddervold Waage
Vår Frelsers gravlund, Oslo, Oslo, Norway In a handbook of nursing Dr. Riddervold Waage was the first one to describe where nurses should wash their patients. Before this it was common to only wash visible body parts like the hands and and the face, while the neck or arms might get washed once a week. A full body wash was not common more often than once a year. Though Dr. Riddervold Waage referred to bacteria which might grow in those unwashed spaces, he recommended washing them not to avoid illnesses but to improve the smell. uuid="90722F66-9469-4702-BE67-67114E84CE7F" id="Norway lilleulven.com _K3_6063-Bearbeitet.tif "
