Stem With single line of hairs down length. Leaves Lower leaves ling-stalked, 3-20 mm. Flowers Sepals 4.5-5 mm; petals deeply bifid, ≤sepals, sometimes absent; 3-8 stamens; red-violet anthers. Habitat Persistent weed of arable crops, gardens, roadsides, waste ground, on fertile soils; also costal seabird and seal colonies, shore drift lines. Distribution Native. Abundant throughout British Island (All Europe.)
