Actually only two sides are constructed by men, the others are natural rocks. Within Kaleto there is not really room for housing people, so it is more of a last defence than a medieval castle with its surrounding walls and the protected village within the walls. Yet, some period of siege was "survivable" as there is indeed a well for fresh water within the fortification. You can find the story of that day here on my blog. Izvos, Vidin, Bulgaria Behind every rock formation lies a story. Sometimes an old story, sometimes a newer one. Unfortunately I did not learn the stories to these formations, but looking closer I can sometimes spot figures, so maybe I will make my own at some point? uuid="7D2F5648-6847-48CA-8412-F8FB2458A025" id="Bulgaria lilleulven.com _K3_1872-Pano.dng Bulgaria lilleulven.com"

The volcano beneath these glaciers has had only two erruptions in modern history, one in the 1300s and one in the 1700s. But it is not death yet, actually there has been some activity ongoing lately again. The more difficult part with this volcano is that there are no records about the previous erruptions, so nobody knows what to expect. Of course, Katla and Breiðabunga have also shown some signs of activity lately and just a day ago the people of Höfn were gathered to discuss what might happen in an emergency. If one of those volcanos errupts they have about 20 minutes to evacuate. uuid="0CDB6582-E6B0-49A6-BC55-BA98726E6B89" id="Iceland lilleulven.com _K3_11283_HDR.psd Iceland lilleulven.com"
