Frederikshavn Church
Frederikshavn, North Denmark Region, Denmark Frederikshavns Church was inaugurated in 1892. It is a cross-church in a roman style build of a limestone called Faksekalk, a stone from the Danish Island Sjælland which is interspersed with corals. Since the transepts are of equal length the church is completely symmetrica. The tower is 56.5 meters (approximately 185 feet) high with four smaller side spires on the top. The inside of the church is dominated by the store vaults and the four strong pillars. The church houses 1160 people, partly on the ground and partly on the gallery. In 1992 a room for children was setup below the churches altar, where smaller children can be taken care of during the worshipping. For use as a church office, teaching of catechumen and others a Sognehouse was setup in the older building next to the church.
