Andalucia, Spain
In 711 Andalucía was conquered by the Moors and the Berbers. The influence of the different Arab dynasties of the Omayyades, Almoravides, Almohades and Nasrides is still seen today in the architecture and agriculture of the area. Especially the Alhambra in Grenada is a well known example of Arab construction ingenuity and quality. During the time of the Arab leadership, which lasted until 1492, the cohabitation of Jews, Christians and Arab culture has become legend. After Andalucía was conquered by the Spanish under the rule of Queen Isabella, Sevilla would become its capital and Andalucía the center of Europe.
