Andalucia, Spain
Photos from Lille Ulven’s adventurous journey through Andalusia, Spain. Including El Chorro, Grenada, Ronda, Malagá, the Alhambra, General Life and more.
In 711 Andalucía was conquered by the Moors and the Berbers. The influence of the different Arab dynasties of the Omayyades, Almoravides, Almohades and Nasrides is still seen today in the architecture and agriculture of the area. Especially the Alhambra in Grenada is a well known example of Arab construction ingenuity and quality. During the time of the Arab leadership, which lasted until 1492, the cohabitation of Jews, Christians and Arab culture has become legend. After Andalucía was conquered by the Spanish under the rule of Queen Isabella, Sevilla would become its capital and Andalucía the center of Europe.

Realejo-San Matias, Granada, Andalusia, Spain Recess in the Sala de la Barca / Hall of the boat of the Palazzo Nazarenes. The intrados of the archway is equipped with these gouged niches, in which bowls with water, perfumes or flowers were kept. Most of the time the bowls were filled with water as a sign of hospitality. uuid="B364CBC4-2ED9-4934-BBAE-8589817D91B6" id="Spain lilleulven.com 20091103_105030_ES_Andalusia_Granada__www.LilleUlven.com.dng Spain Lilleulven.com"
