Pohutu Geyser in Te Puia
Pentax K20D • ¹⁄₃₀ sec • ƒ / 16 • 202 mm • ISO 100 • smc PENTAX-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED Whakarewarewa, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand The Pohutu geyser is one of the most famous geysers, which is located in Te Puia and is known to erupt about every 50 minutes. Not like in other places because someone throws a piece of soap into it, but because the water reservoir has filled up and the water inside has gotten heated up enough to pass through the bottleneck-valve toward the surface.
