Rhodope & Pirin Mountains, Bulgaria
An ancient bridge, which's origins date back to the Romans, when it connected the Aegean region with Northern Thracian. It was build by Dimitar between 1515 and 1518 on the original bridge's ruins.
Several legends tell the story of the bridge. Has its builder made a deal with the devil and therfore included the shadow of his wife in the bridge, meaning that his wife had to die once the bridge was completed? It is said, that the devil's face can be seen in many areas near the bridge too.
